Thomas B. Kyle

Thomas Barton Kyle (born March 10, 1856 in Troy , Ohio , †  August 13, 1915 there ) was an American politician . Between 1901 and 1905 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Thomas Kyle attended the common schools and then studied at Dartmouth College in Hanover ( New Hampshire ). After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1884, he began to work in this profession in Troy. In 1890 he became a district attorney in Miami County there . In his hometown of Troy, he was chairman of the education committee and mayor for some time. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

In the 1900 congressional election , Kyle was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the seventh constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Walter L. Weaver on March 4, 1901 . After re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1905 . In 1904 he was no longer nominated for re-election by his party. After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Thomas Kyle practiced again as a lawyer in Troy, where he died on August 13, 1915.
