List of train stations in Italy |
The Crema train station ( Italian : Stazione di Crema ) is the train station of the northern Italian city of Crema . It is operated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana . The station was opened in 1863 together with the railway line.
The station is on the Treviglio – Cremona railway line north of the city center and has a total of three platform tracks. First a passenger building and a warehouse made of wood were built. These temporary structures were later replaced by masonry buildings. In addition to the reception building, an old water tower and a station keeper's house from which the systems for the level crossing of Viale Santa Maria della Croce were controlled have been preserved. Next to the station building is a large goods shed with a loading ramp . Numerous sidings led from the station to nearby industrial plants.
A few hundred meters from the station, the railway line crosses the Serio River . In July 1944 the bridge there ( ⊙ ) was bombed and destroyed. Because of the interrupted railway line, the Crema station served as the terminus for trains to and from Treviglio , while trains to and from Cremona stopped at a gatekeeper house near the San Bernadino district.
traffic
Regional trains on the Treviglio - Cremona line run from the train station every hour . The operator is the Lombard railway company Trenord .
