Railway stations and stops in Saxony |
The Flöha station is an important passenger station on the Dresden – Werdau railway line . The railway lines to Pockau-Lengefeld and Annaberg-Buchholz also branch off from here .
Railway systems
Today the station has three covered platforms, each with two platform tracks and one siding. The platforms can be reached through a pedestrian tunnel running across the station from the station building to the city.
The outer platform tracks 1 and 6 are not electrified and are only used regularly by the Erzgebirgsbahn trains to and from Olbernhau (track 1) and Annaberg-Buchholz or Cranzahl (track 6). Electric traffic on the Dresden – Werdau route is mainly handled on platforms 3 and 4, the middle of the three central platforms. Platforms 2 and 5 could also be used for this, platform 2 also for traffic on the Olbernhau – Flöha railway line, platform 5 also to and from Annaberg-Buchholz and train station.
The station has been remotely controlled by an ESTW since July 18, 2004 . The B2 signal box was demolished in December 2007. The former locomotive shed at the exit to Annaberg and the W1 signal box were demolished in October 2016.
From 1937 to 1966, Reichsbahn railcars VT 137 and small locomotives were stationed in the operation site or in the Bahnbetriebswerk (Bw) Flöha, which were parked in / on the railcar shed on the former "Komotauer Bahnhof". The existence of the Bw Flöha is documented for at least the period 1946–1950.
Construction work on the platforms has been underway since April 2020 (and probably until 2023). In the course of these measures, elevators will be built for future barrier-free access and the platform heights will be adapted to the boarding of regional trains.
