history
The station was opened on September 12, 1846. The building was built against the backdrop of the new Vienna - Bruck (an der Leitha) line. At that time, several workshops for railway vehicles were attached to the station. A little later a train station restaurant was opened. After 1871, due to the increased importance of the station through new route connections (including an industrial track), an expansion was necessary. In the 1970s, the station was fully electrified. In 1991 the station was rebuilt in its current state. A memorial plaque commemorates this renovation.
