The Guntersau Station is a former passenger and freight station at the Lahn Valley Railway , about one kilometer east of Kirschhofen, in the field of city Weilburg .

The line keeper's house belonging to the station was built in 1862 according to a design by Heinrich Velde ; it is similar to the line keeper's house at Gräveneck station . It is a classical , two-storey plastered building with a gable roof. The rafters are carved. The building was demolished around 2005.

Furthermore, two half-timbered sheds with brick foundations from around 1900 have been preserved.

The station was mainly used for freight traffic. A conveyor railway led here from the Graf-Adolf-Erbstollen in Weilburg, and the ore was tipped into the railway wagons via a ramp that can still be seen today. In addition, two cable cars led over the Lahn: One to the ore mine maintenance, the other to the basalt quarry Steinbühl.

The station is also listed in the timetable tables for route 195 at least from January 1, 1946 up to and including the 1950 summer timetable. However, only one train stop was specified during this period: the last passenger train from Gießen to Limburg was supposed to stop in Guntersau daily at 11:17 p.m. as P 494 in the winter section from December 6, 1948 and as P 1496 in the summer section from May 15, 1949.
