The Hon-Nagashino Station ( Jap. 本長篠駅 , Hon-Nagashino-eki ) is a train station on the Japanese island of Honshu , operated by the railway company JR Central . It is located in Aichi Prefecture in the Shinshiro City area .

description

Mikawa-Kawai is a through station and former separation station on the JR Central- operated Iida Line , which connects Toyohashi with Iida and Tatsuno . The Inaji ( 伊 那 路 ) express train runs twice a day from Toyohashi to Iida and back, and it also stops in Hon-Nagashino. Regional trains run to Toyohashi every 30 to 60 minutes. In the direction of Iida, twelve trains are offered daily, with some being tied through to Okaya on the Chūō main line . The bus stop in front of the train station is served by two Toyotetsu Bus lines and one Shinshiro-shi S-Bus line.

The station is in the Nagashino district, a few meters from the right bank of the Ure River. The facility is oriented from west to east and has four tracks, two of which are used for passenger traffic. These are located on a central platform that is connected to the wooden reception building on the north side via a level crossing . The house platform was reserved for the trains of the now disused Taguchi line of the Toyohashi Tetsudō railway company .

history

On February 1, 1923, the Hōraiji Tetsudō railway company opened the station, along with the line from Ōmi to Mikawa-Kawai . At the beginning he was called Hōraiji ( 鳳 来 寺 ), named after a Buddhist temple more than ten kilometers away . On March 15, 1929, the name was changed to Hōrai-Teraguchi ( 鳳 来 寺 口 ). A little more than two months later, on May 22, 1929, the Taguchi Tetsudō railway company took the first section of the Taguchi line to Mikawa-Ebi into operation; three and a half years later the route reached as far as Mikawa-Taguchi.

The Hōraiji Tetsudō was nationalized on August 1, 1943 and from now on formed part of the continuous Iida line; on the same day the station was given its current name. The Ministry of Railways was responsible for rail operations , and from 1949 the Japanese State Railways . In contrast, the Taguchi line had been owned by the Nagoya Tetsudo since 1936 , and on October 1, 1956, the Toyohashi Tetsudo took its place . The latter shut down the Taguchi Line on September 1, 1968, making Hon-Nagashino a pure through station again. For reasons of cost, the state railway gave cargo handling on December 1, 1971, and luggage check-in on February 1, 1984. As part of the privatization of the state railway, the station passed into the ownership of the new company JR Central on April 1, 1987 .
