The Massy-Palaiseau train station is part of a train station complex in the city of Massy in the Essonne department , around 15 kilometers south of Paris . It is an important traffic junction in the southern banlieue of Paris.
The station is now served by lines B and C of the RER . It is the end point of branch C2, which runs via the Le Pont de Rungis - Aéroport d'Orly station. Line B station was already part of the old Ligne de Sceaux line . The RER B station operated by the RATP and the RER C station operated by the SNCF are on opposite sides of the extensive track field. Numerous renovations are currently underway to better connect the train stations with each other, with the bus stops and with the residential areas. This includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge, which opened in January 2012.
Next to the two RER stations is the independent Massy-TGV station , which provides access to the TGV .
