German Mohrungen ) is a train station in the small Polish town of Morąg in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
The train station Morąg (It is on the 220 Olsztyn - Bogaczewo railway line . The station is a stop for PKP Intercity and Polregio trains with daily direct connections to Szczecin , Gdańsk , Elbląg , Olsztyn , Ełk and Białystok .
history
The train station in Mohrungen was opened on November 1, 1882. The first section led to Güldenboden on the Prussian Eastern Railway . The section to Allenstein followed on August 15, 1883 .
The Wormditt –Mohrungen line was opened on August 1, 1894, and the line to Liebemühl on July 1, 1909 (from 1893 to Osterode ).
Up until the beginning of the 20th century, a brick barracks served as the station building in Mohrungen . This small building housed the station administration, cash registers, a waiting room and a restaurant.
In 1910 a new station building in the neo-Gothic style was built in Mohrungen . The building also contained a hotel and a shipping warehouse.
The building of the Mohrunger Bahnhof was destroyed by soldiers of the Red Army during the Vistula-Oder operation in January 1945 . In the 1960s, the station was rebuilt in the style of Socialist Realism .
