List of train stations in France |
The Nation station (fr. Gare de Nation ) is a tunnel station in the 11th and 12th district in the east of Paris . It belongs to the Réseau Express Régional and is served by trains of the RER A every 5 minutes on average. The station is linked to the metro station of the same name, Nation , where you can change to lines 1 , 2 , 6 and 9 .
On December 14, 1969, the station was opened under the Place de la Nation . At that time it was the terminus for the RER A trains, which only ran in a south-easterly direction to Boissy-Saint-Léger . As a result of the extension of the route through the city center, it has been a through station since December 8, 1977.
The station has two tracks on two side platforms . The platform in the direction of Gare de Lyon is seven meters wide, while the platform in the direction of Vincennes is eleven meters wide. The reason for this is that during its function as a terminus, the station required a generously dimensioned departure platform.
