Nesslau-Neu St. Johann station
Nesslau-Neu St. Johann is the name of a terminus station of the Swiss Southeast Railway . It is located in the municipality of Nesslau in Toggenburg in the canton of St. Gallen at an altitude of 759 m above sea level. M.
The double name of the station results from its geographical location. Shortly before entering the train station, the route crosses the Luteren brook , which separates the villages of Nesslau and Neu St. Johann . At that time Nesslau was its own political municipality , while Neu St. Johann belonged to the municipality of Krummenau and has a certain importance as a traffic junction, as the Toggenburg approach for the pass road to Schwägalp begins there.
The Nesslau-Neu St. Johann station is the end of the Romanshorn – Nesslau-Neu St. Johann railway line . For a long time it was served by a line that ran from Wil via Wattwil along the Thur through Toggenburg.
