Tomáš Zápotočný (born September 13, 1980 in Příbram ) is a Czech football player .

Career

Tomáš Zápotočný began playing football in his native town of Příbram. In the 2000/01 season, the defender was loaned to ZD Milín for a short time , but played regularly in the first team after his return. In spring 2002 he played on loan for Petra Drnovice .

In June 2002 Zápotočný moved to FC Slovan Liberec , where he gradually played his way into the starting eleven and was one of the top performers. However, he was often used in various positions. In the 2005/06 season, in which Slovan Liberec won the championship title, Zápotočný was one of the best central defenders in the Gambrinus League . In addition, he was also the team captain .

When the 1: 3 against Serbia on August 16, 2006 Zápotočný made his debut in the Czech national team .

Zápotočný moved to the 2008/09 season for the Turkish top club Beşiktaş Istanbul . There he became Turkish champion and cup winner. For the 2009/10 season he was loaned to Bursaspor and was also Turkish champion there. In the summer of 2010 the Czech returned to Beşiktaş. In early 2011 Zápotočný moved to Sparta Prague .
