The Gare de Nice-Ville is the main train station of Nice , France .
It is on the Marseille – Ventimiglia railway line . There are direct connections to Geneva , Amsterdam , Moscow and Paris , historically also to Basel and other places in Europe.
The station building was built by the architect Louis-Jules Buchot in the Louis-Treize style to express the connection between the Mediterranean city of Nice and the metropolis of Paris.
Location description
The train station is 16 meters above sea level. The branch station is located at route kilometers 224.114 of the Marseille – Ventimiglia railway line between the Nice-Saint Augustin and Nice-Riquier stations . The train station is at the starting point of the Tendabahn . As a special feature, an elevated expressway runs above the track apron.
The Gare Thiers stop of the Nice tram is about 200 m from the reception building.
