The Porz-Heumar station in Cologne's Rath / Heumar is on the Cologne-Overath railway , on the passenger of Oberbergi web in relation Cologne - Rösrath - Overath - Gummersbach - Meinerzhagen - Lüdenscheid takes place. history

On August 1, 1910, the station was opened under the name "Heumar"; on June 25, 1966 the name was changed to "Porz-Heumar". In 1991, the stop in passenger traffic was discontinued due to the fact that the number of passengers was too low.

From the beginning of the 2000s, Deutsche Bahn planned to expand the line from Cologne to Gummersbach and to reopen the Porz-Heumar station for passenger traffic, whereupon relevant discussions were held in the following years . In August 2005, on the occasion of a request from the Cologne-Kalk district council, the Cologne city ​​council informed the public that the plan approval procedure for the expansion of this route would not be pursued any further. Today the station is only a depot and serves z. B. as an alternative point or to park freight cars for the operation of the nearby garbage transfer station.
