Village church Märkisch Wilmersdorf

The Evangelical village church Märkisch Wilmersdorf is a hall church from the beginning of the 18th century in Märkisch Wilmersdorf , a district of the town of Trebbin in the Teltow-Fläming district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the Evangelical Church District Zossen-Fläming .

history

The church was built at the beginning of the 18th century on a previous building from the end of the 13th century. The initiative went back to Henning Bernd von Schwerin , who had acquired the village and with it the church patronage in 1684 . Friedrich Bogislav von Schwerin (1648–1747) had the building extended to the east; a year later a church tower was added. This was restored in 1856. The extension was used as a burial place for the von Schwerin family. A tower clock must have existed at an earlier point in time. During the First World War , the parish had to hand over one of the bells as part of a metal donation by the German people ; she got lost. From 1945 the existence of 17 coffins has been handed down. They were buried anonymously in the adjacent cemetery after the end of World War II . In 1958, craftsmen shortened the tower for structural reasons. In 1997 there was a water ingress, the damage of which could only be repaired in a makeshift manner. In 2004 the parish first ensured the stability of the tower. In 2012, the roof structure was renovated and the electrical system was renewed. A year later, the tower framework was partially reconstructed. The roofs and the crypt were re-covered and the bells and the organ were restored. In 2015, craftsmen renovated the facade and some of the outdoor facilities.

architecture

The building has a rectangular floor plan and is provided with plaster that was renewed in light yellow in the 21st century. On the south side of the nave , four arched , high rectangular windows let daylight into the interior. They are grouped symmetrically around a wooden portal . On the north side, instead of this portal, there is another, similar fifth window. The western wall of the nave is completely plastered and has no openings. Grooved pilaster strips in a lighter shade clearly highlight the corners of the building. The eastern extension with a square floor plan was built as a crypt . It is structured with double corner pilasters. A centrally arranged wheel window can be seen on the north and south walls . Above is a cornice , to which a wooden, slightly recessed tower is attached. A beehive-shaped sound arcade is embedded on the north, south and east sides . The eastern wall of the tomb is decorated with a triangular pediment, the coat of arms on the founders of the von Schwerin and Kanitz located and a donor's inscription. The builder arranged a beehive-shaped portal underneath, which was closed with a wooden door. The tower spire ends with a slate-covered, double-bent roof on which a cross sits. The hipped roof is covered with a red beaver tail .

Furnishing

altar

The interior furnishings, including a horseshoe gallery, come from the time the church was built and are comparatively simple. The Fuente could be dated by experts in the year 1660th It has a profiled base with a curved lower part and panels at the top. Inside is a baptismal font made of brass with a diameter of 51 cm and the inscription: Anno1660 baptismal font in Wendisch Wilmersdorf CD v L (ietzen) EE v B (eeren) HCvB MEP . The altar has two passages so that the Lord's Supper could be received with a walk around the altar. On the left the communicants received the bread, on the right the chalice with wine. A Schuke organ was built in 1963. Further fittings include a brass chandelier from the 17th century. The flat ceiling is decorated with a haunch . Two bells hang in the church tower. One bears the inscription Osanna hais ich, Michael Kesler from Stutgart gos mich XI anno 1569 . The second is a replacement from 1958.
