The Rosbach vd Höhe train station is the train station of the Hessian town of Rosbach vor der Höhe . It is located at 32.3 km of the Friedrichsdorf – Friedberg railway in the Nieder-Rosbach district . The reception building is classified as a cultural monument.
history
The station went into operation on July 15, 1901. Although it is closer to the Nieder-Rosbach district, it has been in the Ober- Rosbach area since the district was separated in 1912 .
In 1904, the municipality signed a contract with the local iron and manganese ore union to build a narrow-gauge railway with locomotives to the station. There the ores were reloaded and transported to the smelters in Wetzlar and the Ruhr area. In 1926 the mining operations were stopped and the ore transport line dismantled.
In 1985 Rosbach was dismantled to the halt. In 1998, operations on the Friedrichsdorf – Friedberg railway line (under the name “ Brunnenbahn ”) were taken over by Butzbach-Licher Eisenbahn AG (BLE), a subsidiary of Hessische Landesbahn GmbH . In 2002, the entire line and the stations were modernized, for which the traffic had to be suspended for several weeks. In the spring, the now barrier-free station was put back into operation. Since then, Rosbach has been the only station on the otherwise single-track line from Friedberg to Friedrichsdorf that has a siding .
Infrastructure
The reception building, a two-storey central building standing on the eaves, is flanked by two low extensions, one of which is made of exposed framework. The main building has a steep half-timbered cross gable on the road and rail side . The building, which is used today as the municipal library, is now a cultural monument according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act .
The station has two exterior platforms. Track 2 is the house platform . From here the trains go to Friedrichsdorf. Trains to Friedberg run from platform 3. At the station there is also an old silo filling system (which is no longer in operation) and a vehicle scale.
traffic
The HLB trains stop at Rosbach station every hour, which is compressed to half an hour at rush hour, at which the trains cross at Rosbach station.
