Ober-Rosbach is a district of Rosbach vor der Höhe in the Wetterau district of Hesse .
geography
The place is a district of Rosbach and is located on the Rosbach , on the edge of the Taunus. The nearest town is Friedberg (Hessen).
history
The place was first mentioned in 884 when it was donated to the Fulda monastery . In 1482 the Ober-Rosbacher Weistum was written down. The town hall was built in 1550. The town received town charter in 1663. The Protestant town church was built in 1757/58. Until 1820, Ober-Rosbach and Nieder-Rosbach together formed the Rosbach office , first in the Landgraviate of Hessen-Darmstadt , then in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . Manganese was mined near the village between 1850 and 1926 . In 1912 the districts of Ober- and Nieder-Rosbach were divided.
In the course of administrative reform in Hesse , the neighboring village of Nieder-Rosbach was on a voluntary basis on December 1, 1970 incorporated and also the name of the city officially in Rosbach changed. On 1 August 1972, this was short-lived city with the community Rodheim of heights powerful state law to a new city Rosbach together . On March 14, 1973 this was given the name Rosbach vor der Höhe .

The train station in Nieder-Rosbach vor der Höhe is on the Friedberg – Friedrichsdorf railway line . To the east of the village, the state road 3352 and the federal road 455 meet . The federal highway 5 runs west of the place. In the Middle Ages the street ran " through the long Hesse " through Ober-Rosbach.
