Railway stations in Lower Saxony |
The station Schnega (until August 1, 1891 Billerbeck ) is a through station on the America Line between Uelzen and Salzwedel . It was originally located south of Schnega in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district outside of town. The train station, however, had a particular influence on the appearance of Schnega, as a new district of Schnega-Bahnhof has emerged around the train station. At present the trains running on the railway line hold regional trains and regional express trains between Uelzen and Stendal . Long-distance trains pass through Schnega without traffic stops.
In addition, the Schnega station, which is one of the few stations rebuilt after German reunification , is a train crossing station on the single-track line. During the Castor transports to Gorleben , it is the only train station in the district that is served, as the Lüneburg - Dannenberg route is closed during this time.
Track 1 is on the south side and track 2 on the north side of the station. To get from one platform to another, you have to leave the station area and walk about 350 meters. The direction of travel of a train does not allow any conclusions to be drawn as to which track the train stops on.
