Starrel is a small village in the southwest of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony , which belongs to the Schnega municipality in the Lüchow (Wendland) municipality . There are currently 15 residents in 3 houses.

Starrel is located in the Elbufer-Drawehn nature park in the middle of a road triangle formed by federal road 71 and roads K 23 and L 261. After Kreyenhagen the west and Spithal in the south are both about km. 2 Clenze is about 4 km to the northeast. The place is surrounded by agricultural land and forest.
About 700 meters northwest of the village is a steel lattice tower ( Lage ), which was built in the early 1970s as a Clenze 1 radio transmission point for radio links to West Berlin . From 1972 to 1994, connections to the Berlin-Frohnau radio relay system were switched from there using over -the-horizon radio .
