Location of Spithal in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district

Spithal is a district of Bergen an der Dumme in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The place is located 3 km northwest of the nucleus mountains on the stupid and north of the 480 hectare large nature reserve Schnegaer Mühlenbachtal . The B 71 runs through the village .

history

On July 1, 1972, Spithal was incorporated into the municipality of Bergen an der Dumme.

Outside the village on the edge of the forest there is a ruined chapel . The hall building with a retracted, rectangular choir consists of field stone masonry that dates from the end of the 12th century / beginning of the 13th century. In the east wall there is a group of three arched windows . Two windows have been preserved in the south wall.
