Station facilities

Walldorf (Werra) station was built in 1858 as part of the construction of the Werra Railway. For a paving slab factory built in the 1960s , new track systems with a connecting railway were built. At the same time, the Soviet Army had a loading ramp built for the purpose of loading heavy military equipment. By 1991 a track branched off in the direction of Meiningen to a disused coal loading station on the B 19 one kilometer away.

In 2019, in addition to the reception building, the station area will have a through track, a siding, a loading track with a ramp connected to one side and a feed track to the siding of a recycling company. In the south, the tracks are crossed by a state road using a barrier system and in the north by a road bridge and a pedestrian bridge to the industrial area. The station has two platforms for passenger traffic and one open loading platform for goods traffic. Except for the dispatcher's office, the station building has been empty for several years.
