Former train station restoration in Unterhaching

The former station restoration Unterhaching is located next to the Unterhaching station . The building is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments.

history

The station restaurant was built around 1900 and opened in 1903. It could hold around 80 people, and the garden in the corner between the restaurant and train station building offered additional seats under newly planted chestnut trees .

Around 1950, a ground floor building for the post office and a household goods store was added to the building in the area of ​​the host garden.

In 1990 the inn was closed. In the same year, when the building was converted into a hotel, the dormers in the mansard roof were replaced with contemporary dormers and windows.

Since the restaurant was closed, the owner and use of the building have changed several times. Other retail businesses are located in the extension. Numerous installations have been made in the former restaurant garden. Some of the chestnuts from the construction period are still standing.

architecture

The restoration building is a two-storey building in the neo-renaissance style with a mansard hipped roof . It has a footprint of around 20 × 12 meters. The facade is divided horizontally by a cornice between the floors, the ground floor is rusticated . Cornices sit above the windows on the upper floor, over which plaster ornaments are attached.
