Bahnhofstrasse is an extension of Karl-Marx-Strasse from the corner of Kanalstrasse and Wasserstrasse. The road is part of federal highway 167 for the entire route . Other streets that cross or lead off Bahnhofstraße are the way to the Bahn, Am Kleinbahnhof and Am Bahnhof. The street then continues along the federal highway 167 into the street Am Weidendamm.

The road is about 600 meters long. About 200 meters after Karl-Marx-Strasse, the street crosses the railway line. The numbering of the houses begins on Karl-Marx-Straße on the left-hand side and runs to the street Am Weidendamm and then back to Karl-Marx-Straße.
