The Heerhugowaard – Hoorn railway is a railway line between Heerhugowaard and Hoorn in the Netherlands ( province of Noord-Holland ). It is a cross connection between the Den Helder – Amsterdam and Zaandam – Enkhuizen railway lines . The route length is about 16 kilometers.

history

The railway line was built on October 1, 1898 by Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij to provide a cross connection between the above-mentioned railway lines in the north. The route is currently operated twice an hour by a Sneltrein from The Hague to Hoorn.
