The Heerhugowaard station is the station of Heerhugowaard in the Netherlands on the railway line Amsterdam - Den Helder , which opened the 1865th In 1898 the connection to Hoorn to the north of the station was built. Today's station has three tracks; there is a waiting building, which was built in 1989.

history

The station was opened under the name Hugo-Waard along with the line on December 20, 1865. The station building was built in 1862 and was a type of state railroad for 5th class stations. In 1872 the building was expanded. In October 1898 the branch line to Hoorn went into operation. On May 1, 1912, the station was renamed Heerhugowaard, between May 9, 1948 and May 30, 1948 the station was called Heerhugowaard- Broek op Langedijk . The reception building from the opening period was demolished in 1967 and replaced by a Standard Douma building by the architect Cees Douma . In 1989 a new train station with a waiting room was built. The architect of this building was Rob Steenhuis.

There is a small bus stop at Heerhugowaard train station. There buses go to Bergen , Alkmaar , Broek op Langedijk, Ursem and Wieringerwerf. The buses are operated by the Connexxion company.
