The Roermond train station is a through station of the Dutch railway company NS in the Dutch town of Roermond . It is an important hub in the southwest of the Netherlands. All trains to South Limburg pass the station. After Maastricht train station, it is the busiest in the entire Limburg province .

history

On November 21, 1865, the Maastricht – Venlo line was opened and at the same time the station in Roermond. The station building was built in 1862. It is a type of state railroad for 4th class stations. In February 1879 the " Iron Rhine " between Roermond and the German border went into operation, followed by the section to the Belgian border in June of the same year . This made it possible to travel from Roermond to the Randstad region by train.
