The Lysá nad Labem – Milovice railway is an electrified, regional railway connection in the Czech Republic that was originally built and operated as a towing railway for the Czechoslovak Army . It runs from Lysá nad Labem to Milovice .

According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

Today's Lysá nad Labem – Milovice railway has its origins in an army towing line (Vojenská vlečná dráha) of the Czechoslovak Army , which was opened on September 21, 1921 by the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). In 1923 the line was rededicated as a public line. Passenger trains have also been running on the route since March 1923.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia .

In 2009 the line was extensively modernized by the infrastructure company Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). In addition to the renewal of tracks and systems, the line was also equipped with an electric contact line to enable continuous traffic of passenger trains in the direction of Prague. In the long term, a further expansion of the route as part of the planned infrastructure project V. Corridor (Praha – Liberec) is being considered.

Today the line is integrated into the network of the Prague S-Bahn . The trains on lines S20 (Praha – Milovice) and S22 (Lysá nad Labem – Milovice) run alternately every 30 minutes . The journey time is six minutes.

Since December 10, 2009, only the modern three-part double-decker “CityElefant” railcars of the ČD class 471 have been used on the S20 line . The two-axle diesel railcars of the ČD series 810 mostly continue to operate on the S22 line .
