The Cancello – Salerno railway connects the city of Cancello with the provincial capital Salerno on the Gulf of Salerno .

State of development

The railway line is completely two- track and electrified . It is about 50 kilometers long.

history

In 1846 the first section between Cancello and Nola was opened. After that, however, the expansion was slow and it was not until 1892, 49 years after the completion of the first section, that the section between Sarno and Bivio S. Lucia was complete.
