The railway line Driffield Selby was a railway line that ran from Driffield in the northern English county of East Riding of Yorkshire via Market Weighton to Selby in North Yorkshire . It was a link between the East Coast Main Line in the west and the Yorkshire Coast Line in the east.

history

The first section from Selby to Market Weighton opened in 1848. The second section to Driffield followed in 1890. Market Weighton station has since been a junction with the York – Beverley railway line . Passenger traffic on the line was discontinued on September 20, 1954 as part of savings measures by British Railways ; With the end of freight traffic in 1964, the railway line was completely shut down.
