According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.

history

The route was opened on December 17, 1871.

After the nationalization of the ÖNWB, the line was transferred to the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) on January 1, 1908 . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) took their place .

After the Sudetenland was annexed to Germany in autumn 1938, the line came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Breslau . In the Reich curriculum, the connection was now included as KBS 155f, Ruhbank and Merzdorf (Rsgb) –Landeshut – Königshan (–Schatzlar) –Trautenau (–Freiheit-Johannisbad) –Pelsdorf (–Marchdorf [Böhmen]) - Hohenelbe. After the end of the Second World War , the line came back to the ČSD.

Since December 12, 1997, the route has been operated by the private railway company Viamont , now GW Train Regio .

The 2008 timetable provides for a total of 17 pairs of daily passenger trains that run at approximately one hour intervals . Today freight trains only run for a coal and scrap dealership in Kalná Voda.

Nowadays, the route is operated at approximately one hour intervals on weekdays and every two hours on weekends and public holidays .
