description
The building was designed by the architects Plan Architect & Co. After seven years of construction, it was completed in 1997 and replaced the Jewelry Trade Center , which had been built a year earlier, as the tallest building in Thailand. In addition to restaurants, shops and a few offices, the Baiyoke Tower includes the Baiyoke Sky Hotel . Baiyoke Tower 2 is one of the tallest hotel buildings in the world and was ranked 4th in 2007. The 85 floors include a "Sky Walk Revolving Roof Deck" on the 84th, restaurants on the 79th and 82nd and viewing platforms on the 78th, 76th and 18th floors.
The skyscraper is located in the Ratchathewi district (222 Ratchaprarop Road, Ratchathewi), a district that is characterized by many markets and shopping opportunities.
The Maha Nakhon skyscraper, which is about to open in early 2017, is a few meters higher.
