The Balakirew Glacier ( Russian Ледник Бала́кирева Lednik Balakirewa ) is a glacier on the Alexander I Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows from the southern part of the Walton Mountains in a north-easterly direction to Schubert Inlet .
The Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union named it in 1987 after the Russian composer Mili Balakirew (1787-1851).
