Dorsey High School in Baldwin Village

Baldwin Village is officially part of Crenshaw and borders the affluent Baldwin Hills. Because of the lush vegetation, but above all because of its high crime rate, it is also known as "the jungle". Baldwin Village is home to many gangs and is home to most of the members of the Black P. Stone , a gang that originated in Chicago. As one of the most unsafe areas of the city of Los Angeles, most citizens avoid it.

In the immediate vicinity of Baldwin Village is Baldwin Hills , one of the most affluent Black American residential areas in the USA.
