The Ballerup Super Arena is a multi-purpose hall in Ballerup , Denmark . The arena offers 7,500 seats and for concerts up to 9,200 seats.

history

The hall was inaugurated in 2001. Sports and music events are held in the Ballerup Super Arena. The handball club AG København uses the hall for its home games.

Six-day races are held annually on Denmark's only covered cycle track , which was designed by the Münster architect Ralph Schürmann . The length of the wooden track is 250 meters. Twice - in 2002 and 2010 - the arena hosted the UCI track world championships, European championships (2006) and several races of the track cycling world cup .

On January 3, 2003, part of the roof of the hall supported unexpectedly due to gross dimensioning errors. The dowel connection between the upper and lower chords failed on two curved girders. Among other things, summoned experts discovered that rough estimates of the required cross-sectional dimensions were not corrected in the course of the detailed planning. In the area of the connection, the cross-sectional weakening was neglected. Nobody was injured because the hall was empty at the time. It reopened in 2005.
