At Ballystokes, northeast of Downpatrick in County Down , Northern Ireland , a four-meter-long rock outcrop is covered by cup-and-ring markings .

At least seven cup-and-ring markings and many ringless cups / cups can be seen . Some rock carvings have two concentric rings and a straight channel that leads from the bowl through the rings to the outside. Five axes of porcellanite was found nearby. Above Ballystokes is the hill "Slieve na Griddle", on which there is a stone mound that could be Neolithic.

Motifs like these have been found in Neolithic passage tombs and in many places outside Northern Ireland that were Bronze Age in nature. The lack of nearby, older megalithic sites suggests that Ballystokes was one of the Early Bronze Age sites. Nearby are the concentric ring carvings of Churchtown.
