The Balm Beach is a narrow gravel beach on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 1.2 km east of Dartmouth Point at the northern end of the Greene Peninsula on the banks of Cumberland East Bay .
The beach can already be found on early maps of South Georgia, but was only named after a rough survey by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1951. Like other geographic objects in the vicinity of Dartmouth Point, it is named after chemical staining reagents for the histological examination of biological material.
