The Greene Peninsula is a mountainous peninsula on the north coast of South Georgia . It separates the Moraine Fjord from the Cumberland East Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1979 after the British bryologist Stanley Wilson Greene (1928-1989), who worked in South Georgia from 1960 and worked for the British Antarctic Survey from 1969 to 1979 .
