Balthasar Hunold
Balthasar Hunold (born April 24, 1828 in Oberurnen , Canton Glarus ; † June 26, 1884 ibid) was a Swiss poet.
Balthasar Hunold was a gamekeeper and shepherd in his youth and, after graduating from elementary school, a peddler in winter.
His delicate handwriting prompted him to be promoted to schoolmaster in his home parish. In 1848 he went to Innsbruck and entered the grammar school there; on the side he was busy with modern languages, namely English.
Employed at the Tyrolean National Museum there since 1853, he was appointed its curator in 1879. He died June 26, 1884 in his birthplace. The poetry collections Wache Träume (Innsbruck 1853, 5th ed. 1875), New Austria , political poems (das. 1861), Haller walks (1878) and Innsbrucker walks (1883) were published by him, all of which are characterized by warmth, clarity and Mark the development of the form.
