Balthasar Murrer
Balthasar Murrer († after 1511 ) was a German book printer in Frankfurt (Oder) .
Live and act
Balthasar Murrer came from Echterdingen in Württemberg. In 1504 he was mentioned as a citizen in Frankfurt (Oder). In 1506 he enrolled at the newly opened university , where he obtained the degree of bachelor's degree . In 1507 and 1508 he printed with Nicolaus Lamparter from Basel , who already had his own workshop there, then alone in 1509 and 1510. Wolfgang Angst helped him as a proofreader . In 1511 Murrer was called a bookseller ( bibliopola ).
Balthasar Murrer published over 20 works by classical and humanist authors between 1507 and 1510.
