Balthasar Simon (born March 29, 1591 in Schmalkalden ; buried on October 7, 1635 in Tübingen ) was a German doctor and professor at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Balthasar Simon enrolled at the University of Leipzig in 1609 . He became a physician in Speyer , Aalen , Heidenheim an der Brenz and Stuttgart . In 1628 he became a full professor of theoretical medicine and philosophy in Tübingen.

He was the brother of Johannes and Jörg Simon and the father of Jakob Balthasar and Eva Maria Simon . In 1635 he fell victim to the plague .

His portrait, painted in oil by Conrad Melberger in 1628, hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
