Courtship Herter

Balthasar «Balz» Herter (born February 21, 1984 in Basel ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Herter attended the commercial secondary school in Basel, where he obtained his professional diploma in 2003 .

Balz Herter joined the CVP Basel-Stadt in 2004 . Since April 2006 he has been President of the Junge CVP Basel-Stadt and since October 2006 President of the CVP Kleinbasel section . In 2009 he replaced Stephan Gassmann on the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and was a member of the Environment, Transport and Energy Commission (DETEC). On November 1, 2011, he resigned from the Grand Council. He also resigned as President of the Junge CVP Basel-Stadt in November 2011. Patrick Huber was elected as his successor.

In the 2016 Grand Council elections, Herter ran again and was elected straight away.

Herter is the son of the late journalist Martin Herter and the nephew of National Councilor Christoph Eymann and the former Grand Councilor Felix Eymann .
