Nasischijf

A bamischijf (Malay bami = noodles, Dutch Schijf = disc) is a particularly in Belgium and the Netherlands popular snack consisting of bami in a Panierhülle . A comparable snack is the nasischijf, in which nasi goreng (rice) is used instead of bami goreng. The Bamibal and the Nasibal are the spherical equivalents.

Bamischeiben are produced mainly in smaller companies and brands sold. Although Dutch brand manufacturers such as Mora ( Unilever ) also have Bamischijven in their range, the proportion of branded Bamischijven has fallen sharply since the mid- 1990s . One of the reasons for this is that the production of Bamischijven is relatively easy and only small investments are required.

Manufacturing

The filling is prepared on the basis of cooked bami . The ingredients are similar to Bami Goreng , so that in addition to Indonesian spicy sauces, it also contains vegetables and possibly meat. Depending on the manufacturer, the Bami mass also contains influences from Dutch cuisine, so you can also find local vegetables such as peas or carrots in the Schijven. The pasta mixture is kept as thick as possible, so that a dough-like consistency is achieved after cooling . This is formed into a "sausage" that is divided into slices and breaded. The Bamischijven are then briefly fried and frozen. They are fried again before consumption.
