Bamtonnelstroi ( Russian Бамтоннельстрой ) is a Russian tunneling company. Bamtonnelstroi was founded in 1975 by the Soviet Ministry of Transport and Construction. The main task was the construction of the Severomuisk tunnel on the Baikal Amur Mainline (BAM), which lasted from 1976 to 2003. The company name, literally "BAM tunnel construction", also refers to the short name of the railway line. In addition, the company also participated in the construction of the subways in Almaty , Moscow , Krasnoyarsk , Novosibirsk , Yekaterinburg and Dnipropetrovsk .
Moreover, that was until 1985 Baikal tunnel at BAM in Severobaikalsk built. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi , Bamtonnelstroi was involved in the construction of the route from Adler to the spa town of Alpika-Servis .
Bamtonnelstroi already used Canadian tunnel boring machines from LOVAT during the Soviet era .
