Banderas (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Banderas is a British dance and pop duo founded in 1991, consisting of the violinist and keyboardist Sally Herbert and the singer Caroline Buckley.

Band history

Together with producer Stephen Hague, they created the formation's only album , Ripe . The record made it into the UK charts in April 1991 and reached number 40. Despite the participation of Jimmy Somerville (backing vocals), Johnny Marr (guitar) and Bernard Sumner of New Order (backing vocals, guitar), the album stayed ignored in mainland Europe.

The pre-release This Is Your Life already rose to number 16 on the British charts in February of that year and a little later to number 22 in Germany . In May the title climbed to number 18 in Switzerland , in June to number 24 in Austria and to number 34 on the US dance charts .

The extraction She Sells , who came in the UK at number 41, was released in June. Another track from the album, May This Be Your Last Sorrow , was released in August and missed a chart position. The duo then split up.
