Bandi ( Korean 반디 [ pa̠n.di ], RR bandi, MR pandi, YR panti ' glow worms ', * probably 1950 in Hamgyeong Province , North Korea ) is the pseudonym of an unknown writer .

Under this pseudonym, a volume of short stories was published in South Korea in 2014 with the title 고발 ( RR gobal, MR kobal, YR kopal ), which means “ indictment ; Reporting ; Whistleblowing 'means. It contains seven short stories that were written in the 1990s and provide an insight into the painful everyday life of the North Korean population. The rights to the book have been sold in more than 20 countries. In May 2017 it was published by Piper Verlag, translated into German by Ki-Hyang Lee under the title Denunciation .

To the German edition has Thomas Reichart , East Asia - correspondent of the ZDF , a foreword written. Afterwards, the manuscripts of the seven stories were smuggled out of North Korea with the help of a South Korean refugee aid organization. According to its chairman, Bandi is a writer who still lives in North Korea and is recognized by the government there. He is a member of the Central Committee of the North Korean Writers' Association. Before publication, biographical and geographical details that could have provided information about the author were changed to protect Bandi from persecution by the North Korean state.
