history

The Bank of Saint Lucia was created in July 2001 through the merger of the National Commercial Bank of St. Lucia, which was founded in 1981, and the Saint Lucia Development Bank, which was established only shortly afterwards . As the name suggests, the National Commercial Bank was founded as a commercial bank to meet the personal banking needs of clients. The Saint Lucia Development Bank, on the other hand, was set up primarily to provide funding in the fields of production, agriculture, tourism and fishing.

Today the company has branches in Gros Islet , Vieux Fort , Soufrière and in the capital Castries , here in Bridge Street and in the Waterfront Areas . There is also an exchange office at Hewanorra International Airport .

In fiscal year 2018, the Bank of Saint Lucia posted an after-tax profit of EC $ 44.9 million . The EC $ 36.9 million from the previous financial year was clearly exceeded.
