Banna Ridge is a rocky mountain ridge in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains , it extends from Banna Peak in a north-easterly direction to the head end of the Hatherton Glacier . The ridge forms the southeast face of the Abus Valley .
Participants in the Antarctic expedition undertaken by the New Zealand University of Waikato between 1978 and 1979 named it in connection with its highest elevation after "Banna", the ancient Roman name for a place in ancient Britain .
