Baqtyqoscha Salachatdinuly Ismuchambetow ( Kazakh Бақтықожа Салахатдинұлы Ізмұхамбетов , Russian Бактыкожа Салахатдинович Измухамбетов * 1. September 1948 in Koschalak, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Baqtyqosha Ismukhambetov was born in 1948 in the village of Koshalak in the Atyrau region. In 1971 he graduated from the State Oil Institute in Ufa, Russia . He then worked in the oil industry and spent several years in Yemen from 1983 to 1987 . From April 1987 he worked at the Kazakh Oil Research Institute.

From September 1991 he was employed in various positions in the Ministry of Geology and Natural Resources Conservation. Between 1993 and 2003 he worked for various Kazakh companies, including Kazakhturkmunai, KazMunayGas and KazMunayTeniz. He was also First Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources from December 2003 to January 2006. On August 19, 2006, he was appointed Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in Danial Akhmetov's cabinet. On August 28, 2007 he was appointed Äkim (Governor) of Western Kazakhstan . He held this post until August 20, 2012 and from August 15, 2012 he was Äkim of the Atyrau region. After the parliamentary elections in 2016 , he was elected as a member of the Mäschilis , where he was elected chairman.
