Barbara Bechmann

Barbara Bechmann (born December 26, 1950 in Wernshausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the Thuringian state parliament for a few months in 2009 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1969, she began studying economics at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management , which she graduated with a diploma in 1973. She then worked for VEB Werkzeugkombinat Schmalkalden until 1991 , then for a freelance until 2009.

From 1990 to 2009 Bechmann was a member of the municipal council of her place of birth Wernshausen and, after its incorporation at the end of 2008, of the city council of Schmalkalden. From 2002 to 2006 she was a CDU board member in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district and from 2004 to 2009 a deputy member of the Thuringian Constitutional Court . On February 1, 2009, she moved into the Thuringian state parliament as a replacement for Jörg Schwäblein , who had become head of the Thuringian lottery company, but left the state parliament after the 2009 state elections , which took place on August 30. She had not stood as a candidate in any constituency and only ranked 45th on the CDU state list.
