Jörg Schwäblein

Jörg Schwäblein (born May 15, 1952 in Benshausen ) is a Thuringian politician ( CDU ) and former Thuringian member of the state parliament .

Training and work

Schwäblein graduated from high school in 1970 and then began an apprenticeship as a toolmaker . Until 1974 he studied electronics in Ilmenau . From 1974 to 1990 he worked as a development engineer in microelectronics in Erfurt .

In 1970 Schwäblein joined the CDU . In 1986 he was the successor candidate for the district assembly in Erfurt, of which he was appointed as a member on December 6, 1989 and in which he remained until May 31, 1990.

In the first state parliament election in 1990 he was elected to the Thuringian state parliament and held the office of parliamentary group leader of the CDU until 1995.

He was also elected as a member of the Thuringian state parliament in the following electoral terms. From 1999 to 2014 he was also a member of the Erfurt City Council. After he was appointed managing director of Lotterie-Treuhandgesellschaft Thuringia on January 1, 2009, he resigned his mandate at the end of January 2009 after almost four terms in the state parliament.

Schwäblein was chairman of the supervisory board of SWE Energie GmbH until May 2014. On December 31, 2015, he left Lotterie-Treuhandgesellschaft Thüringen mbH as managing director.
