Barbara Blanke is an American biathlete .

Barbara Blanke is a reservist in the United States Army and serves as 1st Lieutenant with the Army Reserve's 328th Combat Army Support Hospital . She is married to biathlete Shawn Blanke and starts for the Utah Army National Guard . Blanke took 13th place in the overall ranking of the Biathlon NorAm Cup for the 2007/08 season . She won the singles title at the Western Regional Biathlon Championships 2011 in Soldier Hollow . At the 2011 Military World Ski Championships in Portillo , she won the bronze medal in the mass start race. In the 2011/12 season of the NorAm Cup, Blanke reached third place behind Katrina Howe and Jenny Abraham in the pursuit race in West Yellowstone for the first time a podium finish in the highest continental racing series. In the 2012/13 season she had to admit defeat only Howe in the same place both in the sprint and in the pursuit.
